I think that the leaky sunroofs are mostly the 2007-2008 models, so avoid those if you want the sunroof. You might check around for 2010 Outlooks. I bought my XR last June for under $30K with 12K on it. It was likely a $37K-$38K sticker and similar used 2010 Traverses were $34K or so. I've seen 2010 XEs listed for $23K-$24K with under 20K miles. The downside is that all the 2010 Outlooks were sold as rentals. There are fewer listed these days though.

I can buy this particular Outlook for around 19,000 out the door am I paying too much for it? It is a 2WD XE version with 71,000 miles on it.

That seems reasonable; the transaction history shows the early sealing of four holes and nothing else related to water leaks/issues. I think at one time there was a leak and it was fixed without further incident

because the Saturn brand is dead. Many people see it and say--- Oh cant get parts for it in a few yrs... But the truth is- mechanically speaking--- the parts are the same in the Acadia and Enclave-- and those people dont know that.

I am sure they will have to make other parts such as body and trim parts for at least another 3 - 4 years. I am checking with the dealer to see if they would GM Certify it for me. These are really nice trucks.

If you're willing to spend a bit more, there are a lot of 2010 XEs on eBay right now with 5K-15K miles, certified for about $24K. Newer, longer warranty (to 48K miles and 48 mos from new) and much fewer miles. Even down around $20K, most seem to have closer to 50K miles. While not bad, I'd say that one is not the best deal based on mileage. Pricing is somewhat regional, though, so depending on where you are, maybe that's the going price.

The dealer tells me that he cannot certify a Saturn vehicle and or any GM vehicle with over 65,000 miles. I will see if I can work out a better deal after checking it out tomorrow. Thanks to all!

I just bought a 2008 AWD XR (leather, dvd) with 27K miles and I did review the carfax but I wasn't aware of the mainteance check. Does anyone have access..? My Vin is 5GZEV23768J210053. I hope I didn't make a huge mistake on this purchase. So far the car has been great and its Saturn Certified. How about maintenance and parts? I paid 23K, probably too much.

Hey I just answered someone else.
I have had a member here, great person by the way, run the history report on my 07 Outlook.
I am having my dealer run one this Friday on my Enclave. If you own the vehicle and you have a dealer you can do either one, member here run it or your dealer run it.
My plan is to have one printed off for me at my dealership no less than once a year.
Just to make sure nothing odd is being charged against my Enclave.

Hi, we have a deposit on this one. I was going to check repair history with the dealer but if someone here can do it, let me know! thanks all. Nice car I believe. I don't worry about the one and two here and there that have a sunroof leak etc. I had it consistently on my Lacrosse and Buick always unclogged it even after warranty expired. Any serious issues out there? If so let me know, otherwise we love it! VIN -- 5GZEV33718J261224

Not sure there is anyone around here who can run a VIN anymore. The big, pricey 'common' issues (how common is hard to say) are: - Transmission failures, usually the 'wave plate'.
- Timing chains. Speculation is that more frequent oil changes will help, but that remains unproven in my view.
- Water pumps. They usually start weeping before complete failure. Only indication is fluid loss, no drops on the ground as the fluid evaporates on the hot engine.
- Steering racks.
- Sunroof leaks.
The sunroofs seem to be 'cured' by the 2010 model year or late 2009s. Leaks are much more common in 2007-2008 and early 2009s. The other issues are less with the 2010 and up (of course, there were no Outlooks after 2010) as well, but being mechanical issues it's too soon to tell if they are actually better or just younger. Minor things are finish wearing of the climate control buttons, headlight wiring failures, some coil pack failures and seat belt B pillar trim being sliced by the shoulder belt. I may be missing some.

There are a couple of people on the Acadia site that can do the look up. Click on the link in the upper right corner, create a log in (like here) and do a search for VIN lookup. You will find, by searching, any problems with the MY you have as the Acadia and Outlook (Traverse and Enclave for that matter too) are the same except for the body style and trim levels. For what it's worth salgoud, I have a very early build 09 Acadia and have never had the sunroof leak problem, and clogging for that matter. I learned from my Outlook what to do to not have clogs (don't park with the roof open mainly). Alot of the problems are hit or miss, just depends on what mood the techs were in when they built the particular vehicles that day, IMO.

Is there anyone still around who can run a VIN / Vehicle History?
I have a 2008 XE enroute from Raleigh to Richmond (Carmax).
Thanks!

Just purchased a 2009 Outlook XR w/50k miles. Carfax looked really good but was hoping to get more information via GMVIS regarding any recalls that might have been done or not done yet:

Thanks for any help you can give!
