Dear carbonflash2,

How did things go with your situation with the Outlook and the dealership? Were they able to get the noise in the column taken care of?

Re: 2008 Outlook XR issues

I bought my Saturn Outlook in Feb. this year it is a 2008 if they could find the draw on the battery it would be great. It is spending more time in the shop than my garage. they have fixed everything they came across but the GM dealership here has had it again now going on the 4th week. I have found out they keep overbooking the tech so he cannot work on my vehicle. the last thing left is to test all of the fuses to see which one is causing the draw on the battery. I am ready to go get it and figure out how to do this test myself. Tired of the runaround the GM dealership service department is giving me.

Re: 2008 Outlook XR issues

tweetypc1, I understand how you feel and that you want to rant about your problem. Do you want any suggestions or past experiences from others who have had similar problems? If you were to post the equipment, mileage, and options on your 2008 Outlook perhaps they can help you solve your problem, or get you pointed in the right direction.

Did you know that some of the earlier lambdas had excessive battery draining symptoms? Some of the repairs included reflashing the Instrument Panel Module because some of the components were "waking up" and drawing voltage. If you have factory navigation, there have been updates made to those because of voltage drainage. There are other causes as well.

Did you try a search for any postings about battery/drain? Check the Acadia and Enclave boards especially, because that's where a lot of posts were made about the problem over the years. You can join those forums using the same user name and password as you use here.

I know we all wish the dealers would fix the problem correctly the first time, but sometimes having these forums can help bring new/fresh/unknown ideas to even help the dealer. Good luck and keep us informed please.

Dear tweetypc1,

How are things going with the dealership as of this morning? I apologize that you are having to go through this type of experience with the dealership. Please, let me how things are going. This will allow me to know if I will need to take additional steps to try to assist you with this.

I wonder if they are following the bolt torque down sequence that was released as a service bulletin.... this to keep leaks from happening- again and again...

Re: 2008 Outlook XR issues

I'd like to see one of these water pumps up close just to try a get an idea of where the weep hole is and to try and see SurfnWolf is talking about.

That looks nothing like the water pumps I'm used to seeing. I wonder where the hose connections are?, or maybe there are none

Re: 2008 Outlook XR issues

IIRC the hoses aren't directly connected to the water pump
