Re: p0449 vent valve solenoid

or go to the auto parts place- have them clear the code..

or buy one of the code readers for $80 and clear it yourself.

Re: p0449 vent valve solenoid

Well after changing the purge solonoid on intake, the gas cap, and just had a mechanic drop the tank and change out vent soloniod the code was cleared! Resetting or clearing the CEL did not work, the check engine came right back on.

Well all said and done, driving home my check engine light came with service stabilitrack and traction control off going on and off. Are you serious! Took back to get scanned with a GMTechII scanner. I had another code come up, don't have it right now but will post. Mechanic said I have a head gasket leak and my MAF (mass air flow sensor) gummed up! He gave me the option of replacing head gasket - 1,800.00 or get a new engine! Are you serious with this truck? I had them change the MAF and clean the system out. Drove the truck for over a 100 miles and had the truck scanned again. No codes were present.

I am at wits end with this vehicle. Has anyone heard of replacing the engine as a fix or is this guy nuts?

Re: p0449 vent valve solenoid

After replacing the purge solenoid, vent solenoid and gas cap on my 2008 Outlook XR, I found a corroded wire going to the vent solenoid on the gas tank. The connector to the gas tank is underneath the car's driver side between the front and rear doors. The two wires going to the vent are red/with white stripe and white. The white wire was corroded and broke off. After a quick splice job, check engine light reset!! I recommend anyone replacing the vent solenoid to check the wire before putting the gas tank back in place. Hope this helps anyone trying to do the same fix.

Re: p0449 vent valve solenoid

talking about this connector?

Inoperative Fuel Gauge and Hard Start/No Start Condition
June 18, 2012
Some 2008-2012 Enclave, 2009-2012 Traverse, 2007-2012 Acadia and 2007-2010 Outlook models may exhibit one or more of the following conditions:

Engine is hard to start Engine will not start Engine starts, then stalls Fuel gauge is inoperative or fluctuates Service Engine Soon/Check Engine light is illuminated

These conditions, which may be intermittent and have various DTCs set, may be due to the fuel tank harness to body harness retainer slipping on the tubing, putting pressure on the harness and causing connector X305 to become partially separated or not fully seated. (Fig. 13)

Inspect connector X305 to make sure that it is fully seated. If the connector is not fully seated, inspect the terminals at connector X305 for corrosion. If the terminals show signs of corrosion, replace the corroded terminals.

Remove the wire harness retaining clip from the steel lines (Fig. 14, Position 1) and reposition it in front of the steel line support to prevent it from sliding. (Fig. 14. Position 2)

Can't answer warranty questions without answers to these. What year is your Outlook and how many miles are on it. Are you original owner or second owner.

11 Enclave CXL2 FWD WDT11/10 purchase 2/11
15 Infiniti Q50 AWD Granite Shadow purchase 6/15

Did you clear the code after you replaced the part?
