07 Saturn Outlook transmission problems

I have an 07 Saturn Outlook that we bought brand new. Now it is 6 years old and out of warranty. I have had it back to the dealer several times when it was under warranty about the transmission making a clanking noise when it shifted to 2nd gear but the mechanic said it was just backlash in the transmission......Should there be backlash in the transmission? It eventually started making the noise when it shift to 3rd and 4th gear. Now the warranty is up and the transmission started slipping and now it is stuck in 3rd gear. It is at the dealer now getting checked out. They say it is the wave plate and it will cost me $1500 to repair, I think GM should take care of this since the problem should have been taken care of when it was under warranty. I will never buy GM again if this is the type of service you receive.

Sounds like the wave plates failed on you, and I just noticed you said that is exactly what the problem is. I don't know what to tell you except, just how long have you been out of warranty? How many miles over?

You did keep the records from the dealership when you had it back and forth about the transmission didn't you?

11 Enclave CXL2 FWD WDT11/10 purchase 2/11
15 Infiniti Q50 AWD Granite Shadow purchase 6/15

Re: 07 Saturn Outlook transmission problems

They just replaced the transmission in my wifes 08 under the 100k warranty. They even got us a rental car the entire 9 days they had it. Ours went to the shop because it would shutter real bad between gears and finaly lost all forward gears. Said its a known problem and GM was not questioning the repairs.
