Question Should I keep & fix it?

Hi everyone,

I'd like to get some advice on whether or not to keep and fix my car or get a new one. I'm the original owner of a 2000 SL1 sedan with 170,000 miles. Over the years I've replaced the clutch, radiator, water pump, had the cylinders reground and new gaskets, and replaced the struts. It's been a great car. But the air conditioning died a few years ago and I don't know if I should have it fixed or if I should buy a new car. How long does the average SL1 keep running? Is it worth it to replace the air conditioning system or will the engine crack or just die soon anyway?

I would appreciate people's input.
