Re: Saturn Outlook reliability - how will it compare? (please sign up if you're new)

I had to drive my Sister In Laws 2012 Lincoln MKX yesterday and despite all the bells and whistles it could not hold a candle to our Outlook. The Outlook is quicker, better ride and more comfy, didn't expect that.

Re: Saturn Outlook reliability - how will it compare? (please sign up if you're new)

We have updated our car reliability stats for the Outlook based on owner experiences through December 31, 2011.

Repair frequencies, in terms of repair trips per 100 cars per year:

2010: 57, about average

2009: 85, about average

2008: 106, worse than average, possible blip at end of warranty

2007: 92, about average

We have two additional statistics, "Nada-odds" and "Lemon-odds," to indicate the percentage of cars with no repairs in the past year and those that required 3+ trips to the repair shop.

For the Outlook these are:

2010: 55, 4

2009: 49, 9

2008: 34, 9

2007: 51, 5

Thank you, once again, to this forum and everyone who has been helping. We'll have further updates in May and August. The more owners participate, the better the information we can provide.

Just registered the '08 Outlook XE we purchased over the weekend. Thanks for recommending such a cool site. I'll add in what history I have from the Carfax.

I miss some things about our Outlook, steering feel is the big one (that Prius steering is numb!), but given only a 50/50 chance of having a repair-less year and a high problem rate now on the 2010s, I'm kinda glad it's gone.

Same numbers on our 2007 Prius:

Repair frequency - 24
Nada / Lemon odds - 80, 0
