Water Pump Location

Just wanted to make sure of something, was losing some coolant and the dealer replaced the water pump...however since I have it back I noticed still getting a drip on the carport..so i crawled under car..and the Big Pulley at the bottom of the passenger side of the engine near the tire..is that the water pump? Im still getting some seepage from behind it.. you can see it seep, and drip onto the driveway. ?

Keep an eye on it; I would expect any excess seepage to stop once the new seals set. IIRC; the water pump is a bit higher and not behind the big pulley. I would take some pics of the seepage and if you need to take the vehicle back; you will have some evidence to help support your case

Re: Water Pump Location

Ive never heard of a seal having to set, or seal up. Wouldnt it just be dry once its replaced.

Re: Water Pump Location

I don't know about the seal setting....but in any case, if sounds as though you still have a leak and need to call whomever did the repair.....if you trust them . It might just be as simple as an untorqued bolt, but maybe the seal got pinched and won't seal. I did a water pump on another vehicle and getting it to seal was troublesome.

They should make it right.

I would recommend contacting your local dealership again to have this issue addressed. I would also appreciate it if you could let me know how everything goes. Thank you.

Re: Water Pump Location

@jag87xj6, I have read your post about your situation with the water pump on your Outlook. I am so happy for you that you were well taken care by Edwards Chevrolet 280 and General Motors warranty. Please, let me know if you would like me to file a dealership compliment.
