i think the 60-90 days part is related to the reprogramming of the ECM.
The TSB says that cadillacs would go 1st....

so maybe thats what the delay is... But I think Sailfish's outlook already had the ECM reprogrammed.

As for the code reading...
I think that is then included in the repair bill.. IF the repair is done by them.
If not they have to charge you- someones got to pay for that gazzillion dollar Tech 2 scanner.

But Ive usually seen that-- found code XYZ- repair done. no charge.

Yeah, they did not even say anything about the P0017 code. Did not list it on the paperwork. Only thing listed on paper work is ECM reprogram avail in 30-60 days..and the airbag codes. I am still going to try and get the money back but no way is this dealership working on the car. I'm going to have my friend that works at Chevy pull the codes with the Tech2 and I'll bring the report with me... Either way, money back or not.... I'm going to pull $95 of grief by making the service advisor look really stupid in front of whoever her boss is .

Re: $95 code reading fee from GM Dealership

yeah just have the work done at the chevy dealer.....
Now- theres codes that are set that cannot be read via the OBD II port.
the other codes are stored in some other body control module.

I had the service Park assist message on my traverse.
I scanned for codes via the OBD II port- none found.
But when they did the calibration update for the park assists- they found codes B0059 I think it was...
B for body I think. P for Powertrain.

That makes sense. I'm pretty sure the OBD port can pull all engine related data but not the airbag codes.... Who knows.. I'm going to try and find info on the airbag and see if I can find parts else where.. I looked under the seat but I'm scared to go poking around and set off the air bag.. They don't look or smell to good...

Re: $95 code reading fee from GM Dealership

Dont know about your saturn but mine is a 2007 with 85k on the ticker and I am still covered under the 5yr/100k powertrain warr granted my chain was replaced at 71k miles.

I did have an airbag light come on when the battery died but it just went away overnight.. interesting.......

Now its just a little leak under the dash dripping from the fuse block. Joy!!

When will there be more recalls?

2007 Outlook XR AWD 83k miles<br />Everything but the DVD and 6 disc. I think...<br />Looking for chrome roof rail end caps. Help!

Re: $95 code reading fee from GM Dealership

When my 07 Outlook had the similar codes and the stretched timing chain problems they Chevy dealer waived the $115 diagnostic fee because the fix was under the 5 year 100,000 warranty. They also stated the airbag light was due to my cell phone on the passenger seat (as well as my laptop and other cell phone was nearby) and to come back if the airbag light goes off again. The parts were already at the dealership so no waiting there (it took a week to fix).
