I got home from work before my wife and just happened to go into the garage for something and saw a 3" to 4" DIA puddle on the floor about where the water pump would be when the OUTLOOK is parked. The 1st thing I thought was condensation from the AC system but when I stuck my finger in the puddle I could tell right away that is was coolant. My wife got home shotly after that so then I put it up on ramps and got a good look, I could see where it had dripped but it was dry and the reservior was right where it had been so I dont know what's going on, I guess I'll have to take it in. Just what I wanted to do, it has to go to the dealer where I bought it from, formerly Saturn, now KIA and is about 45 min away to get the DVD player fixed, the DR side screen just went blank and has no power to it. I'll take it to my new Chevy,GMC,Buick dealer for the coolant leak. 31,750 miles!
Dropped the OUTLOOK off today and was given an '07 Lacrosse CX with 46K on the clock for a loner :thumb: Hopefully tomorrow I'll have it back in the garage. It was leaking BAD when I dropped it off and the coolant dripping on the belt made a heck of a racket.
Yes, it will be tomorrow before I get the OUTLOOK back. I think this is the 1st water pump they have done for a Lambda based platform and I think they have only done one timing chain, maybe more now that was a few months ago when she told me that. All I hope for is it to come back to me better that when I dropped it off and I think it will
No price on the paperwork, all it said was "coolant pump leaking out the weep hole" "replaced coolant pump". I looked up in there and sure enough there's a new pump.

Looks like I have the same problem on my 2008 XR FWD. I've found a puddle on the driveway the last couple days. Probably a 12-16" diameter wet spot after it sits for 4-8 hours. Thought it was oil since that was low, so I took it to Goodyear for an overdue oil change and tire rotation. They told me the oil is fine, but the water pump is leaking. They also found a transmission leak at the right side axle seal.
I assume both of these issues would be covered under the 100K mile powertrain warranty. I'm close to 48,000 now.
Is this a multi-day job for the dealer? I'm not really thrilled with the service I got at the Chevy dealer that will shuttle me to work. I'd rather take it somewhere near home and get a loaner, but they usually fight on that if they are not keeping it overnight.
yes 100K.
Try a GMC or Buick dealer. theyll work on these too under warranty.
Call ahead to make sure- but they should. the Acadias and Enclaves are the same powertrain/chassis undeneath

Got it in to a Chevy dealer at 6:00 this morning and they managed to get it done by 5:30. Ended up with a free alignment since they had to drop the transmission, and apparently that throws it off. Summary for future reference:
Trans Fluid Leaking: Installed 88861003: Fluid; Installed 24262198: Seal Kit; Installed 24254103: Plate
Verified leak found from case half seal. Removed transmission and disassemble, replaced 3 5 R waved plate per bulletin. Also replaced both axle seals and front pump seal cleaned all debris from valve body and trans case, reassembled transmission and road test OK.

WOW they must of tagged teamed it :thumb: that's alot of wrenching to do in one day. Either they put Master Techs on it or.......they've done alot of them and have it down, either way glad you got it back in one day.
Got it home fine. Next start the engine light was on. Back to the dealer and it is giving knock sensor codes. They immediately agreed to a loaner, so waiting on Enterprise to open.
So, two leaks, one coolant and one trans fluid. In one work day they replaced the water pump and dropped the tranny, disassembled it, replaced the wave plate, reassembled it and put it back in. Impressive.

Keep me updated in regards to your progress at the dealer. Feel free to send me a private message if you have any questions in the meantime. Thank you.
Replaced the knock sensor and all seems well. No complaints about the dealer (Hamilton Chevy, Warren MI). These are the first functional issues I have run into in 48,000 miles, and hopefully things "come in threes", so I am done. Also hoping an odd coincidence that all three appeared within a few days.

From what I understand, knock is the same as/close to pinging caused from fuel combustion problems.
So somehow the sensor measures this?
