Front and Rear A/C issues

Has anyone had any issues with either the front or rear a/c system? Our front a/c is not blowing at all. the rear is still blowing but the front and floor are not.
Also, if you are in the DFW area, has anyone found a good mechanic for the Outlook outside the Dealership? They are robbing us blind.

Re: Front and Rear A/C issues

I have a 2007 Saturn Outlook. My aircondition blows warm air in the rear and only blows cool air when the car has cooled off over night. Anyone have any suggestions?

Dear 2007 Saturn Outlook,

I realize that you are seeking diagnostic information about your air conditioning on your Outlook. However, I am wondering if you have contacted your local Saturn service center yet? If you have contact the dealership; what did they say? If you have not please, give the community some time and I am sure that you will receive some input from them. They are always very helpful.

Sincerely,
Michelle, GM Customer Service

Re: Front and Rear A/C issues

I had something like this happen the other day. While driving it seemed like it was getting warm in the car so I placed my hand by the vent and nothing was coming out. I then changed fan speeds and direction of flow from floor to defrost and still nothing. I heard the fan running and was able to change the fan speed and still nothing.
I then turned on the rear AC and it worked fine. I left the rear AC on to get the car cooler and eventually the front started to blow air again. Not sure what happened or why. I took it to the dealer and they replaced the blower motor and fan. Not sure if that is the fix because that has only happened to me once.

Re: Front and Rear A/C issues

I wonder why they changed the blower motor and fan when you mentioned you could change the fan speed? Sounds to me like the evaporator is either going bad or possibly the system "froze".

Dear TSC1969,

I have read your post about your situation with your Outlook and the air conditioning.

Would you mind providing us with an update of how the changing of the blower motor and fan affected your situation?

Sincerely,
Michelle, GM Customer Service

Re: Front and Rear A/C issues

I wondered that as well. Have not been on any long trips since to really give it a good test.

Re: Front and Rear A/C issues

You might have a low freon situation going on. If it is low and especially when the humidity is high, the condenser can ice up and block the air flow to the front duct work. Mine was low and had the exact symptoms. Don't know why the back vents still worked fine but when the system was topped off properly, everything is blowing cold again. Good Luck.
