Today I got a really annoying problem - I was about to re-learn the TPMS system tire positions after rotating the tires and while taking the cap off one of the wheels the valve stem cracked and started leaking air until tire went completely out of air. After some googling around it appears to be common problem with these cars. So I went to the dealer to purchase another valve. Dealer gave me new valve stem (along with the whole sensor) part number is 13586335. It looks different than the one I got on the car (new one is rubber, original one is metal). Dealer claims this is a new design they now use for these cars since corrosion apparently is big problem for the original metal ones. Googling the part number suggest it is not compatible with 2008 Outlook XR, but dealer, after checking my VIN number, claims this is the right one. Few sites confirmed dealer's claim, but 9 out of 10 suggested it won't fit 2008. Has anyone been thru this already? Would #13586335 actually work?
