I looking for other things to check. Just got the car. I put new plugs in and a battery. It cranks but doesn't seem to fire. Noticed oil in one of the cylinders. Dont know if it has anything to do with it. Pretty sure its getting fuel but unsure is there way to check the sending until. Also I tried starting fluid but didn't do make a difference. I think its go spark but unsure. Is there something obvious that's cause this normally i missing.

Hey there! My first guess is you have a Valve cover gasket leak! A leak in the gasket will definitely cause the oil you found in your cylinder. oil will short out all the coils and plug wires causing the engine not to start. Please do not put any “oil stop leak” in your vehicle, some people swear by it but in my experience it just causes all kinds of goop build up in other places it shouldn’t be. Best of luck!
