My wife is experiencing an intermittent problem with her standard radio volume and I am 600 miles away on a long term assignment and can't help her or even look at the problem. She says the radio volume sometimes works fine, and sometimes it just fades out and she can't get any sound even when she turns the volume all the way up. She took it to a GM dealer and the guy told her all her speakers have to be replaced and it's going to cost $800. I told her that sounds like BS and I don't see how all 6(?) speakers can break at the same time (she doesn't even play any music loud at all... just listens to traffic and news), and I told her even if it were true that all speakers have to be replaced, I can't imagine it would cost $800. Now I've done a lot of researching in this forum and elsewhere and I see that audio and speaker problems seem to be common to the Outlook... but $800??? Am I out of touch or is she being ripped off? Can any experts provide some advice or alternative solutions (like Best Buy?) Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
