Do you need to drop the tank, or is there an access cover above the tank?

Anyone got some pics to help with this job?

have not heard of an access panel.
Most likely drop the tank

What do you think is the problem and why?

It started right up Sunday morning but 2 hours later it just cranked over (and did not fire) for about 30-40 seconds.

After cycling the key to the "on" position three times it started right up again.

It is my experience that usually means the fuel pump is going bad.

are you parked on an incline?
was the tank low on fuel?

These tend to not start when parked on incline and low on fuel.
