Hi all i'm new to this site.I'll try to make this quick.I purchased an 08 outlook on Jan. 3,2009.When i reached 640 miles the engine light came on.I brought it in for service. They said they had to open up the engine and add some washers to the camshaft to fix the problem.I wasn't happy with the idea.
My window sticker said I had a 30 day/1500 mile vehicle exchange feature. So I decided to exercise this feature. At first Saturn tried to tell me no. That they would not honor this feature because they had ended the program on dec. 31. But my window sticker said I had this feature so I guess they knew they had to honor it.Unfortunately the dealer "Saturn of Smithtown N.Y" had no 08 outlooks left. I would have to take an 09 without the sales incentives I got on the "08".($750.00 cash back as opposed to $3,250.00 cash back.) The dealer also had 2009's with many more options than I had. So it was going to cost me $5,250.00 more for the vehicle exchange. Some deal. At that time I asked the regional manager if GM would extend the warranty on the repair. He said no. So now I had no faith in the repair.I went back to the dealer to see if I could get a published copy of the vehicle exchage policy. They could not provide me with one. At that time another sales man stepped in. He called someone at Saturn and explained that thay had no "08's" for the vehicle exchange could I get the "08" incentives on the "09". To my surprise the person on the other end of the phone said yes. So I signed a contract with the salesman. I returned the "08" to the dealership where they removed the dealer installed options and installed them on the "09".The following day I was to pick up the new outlook and pay the difference for the extra options. After waiting around the dealership for 3 1/2 hours they told me they couldn't give me the new car for the price that the contract said. I would have to pay the $5,250. more. At this point I was tired and annoyed. And Saturn had thrown thier salesman under the bus. I couldn't believe it.Saturn said they never authorized the deal. But I was there when they did.And I have a signed contract. So I think we are going to court. I'll let you know how it works out.
