I've uploaded pricing info on the 2008 Highlander to my site's database, so it's now possible to not only configure the new Highlander but also thoroughly compare it's price to the 2007 and to competing vehicles, including the Outlook.
2008 Toyota Highlander pricing and specifications
The new Highlander is priced about even with the Outlook at MSRP, but the dealer margin is very large, about $5,000, and Toyota dealers will discount. If you adjust for features, the price is close to that of the 2007 Highlander--until you factor in the 2007's $2,000 rebate.
Size-wise, the Highlander remains a half-size smaller than the Outlook. This is most apparent in the third row and in cargo space behind the third row.
