Today we turned on the A/C in our 2009 Outlook and there was only HOT air blowing from the front vents. There was cool air from the back vents. Does the air have two condensers, or was the rear air cool simply because it as not blowing across the heater coils?

The rear unit is separate and has it's own evaporator. You can have cold air from the back but not from the front since they are essentially two separate units. However, you should first check and make sure your actuators for the front vents are working properly. Read this post to see what the four different actuators control and make sure yours are working properly.
