Hello,
All I am happy with my Used 08 Outlook, but a few things have been bugging me since I bought and I’m curious if anyone had solutions/feedback.

Air bag on passenger side shows turned when someone is in the seat. Has there ever been a re-call on this?

Accelerator is sticky in that when you are going around 60 you really got to step on it to get to 65. And can be hard to hold at 65. I was told by the dealer this is supposed to be like this as the computer is saving fuel and you have to step on it ask for power. He said it was a common complaint when the Acadia first came out.

Finally, it has a bouncy ride. I was told again by the dealer that I am used to a car and that the tires are huge so of course I will feel this. I had another garage check the shocks and he said they were fine. I don’t know seems like too much bounce for a passenger vehicle.

Hello,

Thank you on all the input. You guys nailed "the sticky accerlerator" right on. I suppose I could ahve been more clear by detailing the point about the tac, how it shoots up to 3 when I step on it. I do belive I have heard about the update before, but I don't think I want to do that. I'm getting used to it so I'll stick with it since it saves gas.

The bounce I think is resolved as well. I have now had a third person look at it and they said at worst it must be the tires and that I should look into tires with a better side wall. Other than that shocks and struts are fine.

:blob: Now the REAL issue.... I had them look at the air bag. They said the sensor works fine, but you have to be over 140 lbs. They said any adult less then that has to sit in the back. They directed me to call GM and they CONFIRMED this!!! That is crazy! The average female is 95-130 lbs.
GM suggested I contact the national highway assoc and get permission to put in a switch to manually turn the bag on and off.....
However two days later I sat in the seat and I am over 140 and the air bag said it was off. I then punched the seat 4 times and it came on.. I called GM 2 days ago and asked if this was tied to the re-call and if the re-call needed to be re-called. They said they woudl get back to me.

theres a procedure where they recalibrate the pad in the seat.
ZEROin the pad.

Like a scale-- where you zero it.
They did that. That's how they got me out the door because it worked at first for people over 140 after it was reset. So they used that reason and said they'd call Chevy for the fix to detect under 140. There wasn't one. And now a week later after only the second time the seat was used the air bag light did not show on for any weight.
