I am just curious if we Outlook owners just have such great vehicles with no problems (other than sunroof and tranny) that we don't need to communicate, or are we hanging out at the Enclave and Acadia sites?

Even if as it looks like, that this is the last year for the Outlook, this forum can still be helpful if not nostalgic.

Any way, just curious since I keep seeing allot of brand new Outlooks on the road but not much going on here.

I was thinking the same thing and I do find myself on the Enclace and Acadia forums probably because they are talking alot more and post alot more threads. Maybe it's just that they out-number us--well by alot, I dont know, I do know this, the OUTLOOK is probably on it's way out :eek:hno: and who ever has an 07' got the first year and those of us who got an 09' got the last year. I also know that if Saturn goes away I wont have to go far to find a GM dealer to service my OUTLOOK, I will only have to go about 1/2 mile vs 25 miles. I'm also curious to see how bad the Traverse clobbers the Enclave and Acadia, also I do have to admit 4 Lambda's for one company is probably 2 too many, I'm just sad it had to be the OUTLOOK that had to go, IMHO it's the best looking one. I think that the Traverse is going to be the money maker for GM.

Well this is my first post. I too was wondering this also. I just got on here after purchasing a 2008 Outlook XR. I really think I got a great deal and even with the whole saturn/GM thing. I originally liked the way the 2008 had the dual exhaust on the back. Although after driving it some time I have noticed the rear hatch get really dirty from the exhaust. I think I know now why they moved it to point down and not straight out.
Well hello again to all. What does everybody think will be the status on our cars. Will they hold there value? Become rare? Or just go to the side.
Thanks
John

The Outlooks will loose some value as the Saturn we know will not exist anymore, kind of like the Old's, but I don't think it will be as bad as others think for at least 10 years. GM will have to have all body parts available for 10 years from the model year. The mechanical parts should not be a problem as long as they basicaly remain the same on future Acadia's, Enlaves and Traverses. Because of those three I think the Outlook will hold it's value. Saturn vehicles don't hold their value like they used to since they were sold to rental companies starting a couple of years ago, putting more used on the market.

None of this matters too much to me as I plan to drive mine till it falls apart years from now.

Welcome on board and tell your friends about us.

There is a little more discussion about our Outlooks on saturnfans.com. Check it out if you haven't already.

Ok, I'm a new Outlook owner. I bought a new 08 XE AWD with sunroofs back in Nov. So far I have had my Outlook back to the dealer, counting this week, four time, 1st time was over the leak in the sunroof, draining down on drivers side dash area and seems to be fixed now, last three time it was a leak on passengers side front door. They replaced the seal around the door 3rd time, this time they are telling me that they can't get it to leak. Don't know what to do. Apparently they know they have this problem but don't have a "fix" for it. Any suggestion????

Where are you noticing the water, on the floor?

Welcome to the forum and Outlook. You will love it after the little things are fixed.

I wonder if there is not a whole in the top of the door that should have a plug (like an access hole used for repairs, you see all these plastic caps that cover these holes all over) or the plug has a crack. I have not read on anything like this before but I don't think it is sunroof related. Weather stripping could also be torn or cracked allowing water in. I wish I had a better answer for you but this is new to me.

Good luck!

We have already replaced the weather stripping. The GM Customer Service states that they are aware of this problem; however, there is no solution. Tech Support can't seem to figure out the problem. Started leaking after hard rain after stripping was replaced. I guess we wait for now and see what happens. We love our Outlook. Just want some resolution to this problem.

I have to say I've always been a bit surprised by the lack of traffic on here. The Acadia and Enclave forums took off quickly. I started this one at the same time, yet it's always lagged. In fact, even the Traverse forum, which has only been up a few months, already seems to have more traffic on a daily basis than here. I've always just assumed either another site was already doing a serviceable job covering the OUTLOOKs, or there really are far fewer problems with them ;)

In any case, I plan on keeping this forum open and active as long as there are members who keep visit ;)

I would like to hope it's because there are fewer problems. I have owned my Outlook a little over a year and it has only been back to the dealer for the wiper recall. I hope this lack of problems keep up. :thumb:

I do read alot more about problems with the Acadia and the Enclave with reguards to leaks compared to the two Outlook sites I frequent. The slight differences in roof shape may play into this but also understanding the design. It is my understanding that Saturn first designed this and maybe they got it right faster.

You also don't find many people at all bashing the Outlook and GM as you do the Acadia and the Enclave, yet according to a current poll on the Acadia site, they would do it all over again. Go figure.
