Not sure how prevalent this is, but its these little details that make me never want to buy a GM again. These buttons look like s*#t! I wouldn't be as upset if the car were like 4-5 years old, but its a 2008 model and only 2 & 1/2 years old and it started about 1 year into ownership as a small chip that progressively got larger. This isn't an isolated issue because I have two friends experiencing the same problem (GMC Acadia and Chevy Silverado). I imagine it will eventually come off completely over the next year which is why I'm asking if these can be replaced with relative ease on my own? Sure, the dealer can do it, but it will cost me at least $100-$200...

It's a shame because I really love this vehicle and plan on keeping it for many years to come.

There was a post made on the Acadia board pertaining to the same thing.

The buttons on my Outlook are not showing any wear at all.

I usually have the heat/air set on "auto" and the temp set at the same year round. The only changes would be if I were to increase of decrease the fan speed.

Also the passenger climate button hardly is used.

Hope you can find what you need.

I have a similar flaking on my '08 Outlook. Perhaps started by a fingernail. Hate it!
