The captain's chairs are outfitted with LATCH and a rear tether point on the back of the seat. Our Britax Marathon seat is secured very well into the captain's chairs.
My only complaint about the design of the second row capts chairs (and I would think the bench would have the same issues, but not sure) is that the headrests are fixed. They can't be removed or adjusted and larger front-facing child seats tend to butt up against the headrest leaving a gap between the childseat and a back rest of the 2nd row seat. Reclining the seat fully helps some, but not completely. Still, it doesn't seem "unsafe", the LATCH system is still holding the chair very securely. It's just not an optimal design.
sATURN OUTLOOK Scored the highest in government crash test ratings - 5 star all around in all four categories.( and the captains chairs were tested thoroughly!! )
So the vehilce is a 21 STAR vehicle ( Onstar being the last star! )
