09 Outlook, having problems with a "chugging" at low RPM and when ever cruising at consistent speed. New plugs, new coil packs same problem. Some have recommended fuel filter but this vehicle doesn't have one. Any suggestions?

Can you explain Chugging? This? A dull explosive sound, usually short and repeated, made by or as if by a laboring engine.

feels as though the engine is misfiring, as if its not getting enough fuel. To stop it from happening you either have to let off the accelerator or accelerate out of it. Causes a vibration (chug) throughout the entire car.

The next thing I would do is check the throttle plate and make sure it is clean and free. You must take off the rubber boot and intake snorkel, check to see if you have oil collection in there and clean. Make sure you don't have ignition on when you do anything with the throttle plate as it can cause a position fault, and relearn . You can take the whole throttle body off, just four bolts with reusable gasket, carefully disconnect the connector and remove unit for proper cleaning. Make sure you let air dry of solvents before you reinstall so nothing gets to MAF sensor, make sure you don't get cleaner into the electrical components.
Also make sure your air filter is clean. About $7.00 for a can of Throttle Body cleaner.

I have a 2009 as well. This is sounds like a familiar problem to me. It has always ended up being an ignition coil. I just wait for an engine code to show up which will tell you which cylinder. Then I change the coil. I have done three so far.
