Hi,

I am a NEWBIE here. Been lurking for a week or so now. Purchased a pretty well loaded 09 XR in Cocoa/Tan 9 days ago. GREAT VEHICLE!

I posted this topic on the other Saturn site and had not seen a response yet. Click here

http://www.saturnfans.com/forums/showthread.php?t=142319

A search here as well as the other site did not generate any mods that addressed this. No front floor courtesy lights, no glove box light, no engine compartment light. As I stated on the other site, for a 40K+ vehicle, you would think this would be standard.

I know the modding to courtesy lights has been done on the earlier VUES (had an 06) but I am hoping someone in one of the Lambda sites here has addressed this. It would be great if pics and iinstructions were recorded. If anyone has done this, I would appreciate your posting here or e-mailing me at

[email protected]

Thanks again in advance!

Great website!

Regards,

Jim

Hi Tim,

Any chance you could take a pic or 2 of where your courtesy lights are? I understand in a bigger sense GM, after a couple of years from launch of a new vehicle, methodically decontents that vehicle. Believe that is what happened in the 09s from prior years.

Anyway, if you could take a few pics of your floor courtesy lights (if you have them) as well as the glove box light and (if you have it) the engine compartment light.

Thanks in advance!

Regards,

Jim

Great companion sites for this Lambda platform. Did some reading on the Enclaveforum.net site and read through a few pages on Interior and Electrical. Walllah!! Found a possible fix for the lack of a glove box light in my 09 XR. Click on this link on what was discovered.

And also here at the Acadia site

Hopefully, I will be able to see if the harness for the glove box is up in there. Stay tuned!

Jim

I have attached photos of the courtesy lights and the glove box light. I do not have an engine compartment light.
Hope this helps,

I have concluded Saturn Outlook owners do not seek out a forum for their vehicle.

The other lambda forums are a lot more active and usually have more knowledgeable members. Unfortunately you have to register at each site to use their search. The Acadia forum has a few pictures of adding courtesy lights.

Tim,

Much appreciated! Thanks for responding!

Ill post back here once Ive got the glove box in place.

Just curious to know if an engine compartment light was ever installed in the 07s.

Jim

ps Rocco_Dyce, think you might be short changing yourself by not simply registering to the other Lambda sites. What is really important here is the fact that these 4 vehicles share a lot of common parts. You, the owner of one of these Lambda platforms, will be richer (a font of knowledge of issues and what were the fixes as well as running improvements). I would encourage you to reconsider your decision not to register on these other Lambda sites. Defintely will benefit.
