Electrical problem, rear liftgate, tries opening when I open driver door?

really weird thing here. first the button on the liftgate wouldn't work at times, very rare but at times. Then, It got to when I opened the driver door, it unlocks, and doesn't open but opens partially? Its like you hit the button in the back but didn't pull it up, so it is sitting there not locked, but not open, like it isn't latched good. I can push on it and itll latch, im praying this is a relay or maybe a battery going bad. Ive had a caddy that did stuff right before the battery went dead so wondering if anyone else has had this problem?

Im thinking the sensor pad has water in it-- thus it not working at times...

Id start with that.. its a $20 part.
