The temperature gauge on our 2008 Outlook read 100 degrees at startup tonight. I live in Ohio and the current temperature was about 55 degrees. The vehicle is kept in a detached 2 car garage and I'm pretty sure that it is NOT 100 degrees in the garage. I have noticed the temperature gauge reading this high for quite some time now. It does eventually go down to the actual temperature. Anyone else notice the high temperature reading at startup?

Thanks for the response. I suppose that at this point in time, and the age of the vehicle there is nothing that can be done without cost to me.

Your probably right but it can't hurt to try. Maybe they can sell you the "kit" and you can install yourself.

I dont know what the kit looks like..
but the sensor is pretty much a resistor

If you want to go the inexpensive route---
I would find the sensor--- and move it to the front area--- in front of the radiator--
and zip tie it.

If it doesnt reach-- I would splice in wire to elongate it...
