Hi All,
Am approaching the end of my bumper-to-bumper warranty so thought I'd look the car over carefully and that's when I noticed a lot of forward/backward play in the passenger heated, power, auto dimming mirror. Drove over to the Chevy dealer and asked if this is "normal". The writeup man had a body shop tech look at it and said the pivoting point is excessively worn (I use 'em everytime I pull the car into the garage). Wrote me up under the bumper-to-bumper warranty last Wednesday. What a pleasant surprise to have them call me yesterday to say the mirror is in and painted. Yup, the replacement was shipped to the dealer, specific to the VIN on my Saturn (features and color). Drove over this morning at 7:30 and I was on the road by 8:30.
You know how the Traverse pass mirrors have that smaller convex mirror built in, well this replacement mirror has that feature. Nice little upgrade to the replacement.
Now lets hope that's all I've got to replace on her what with all the timing chain and trans threads rampant. I DO have to knock on wood 'cause this Lambda has been pretty trouble free and a joy to drive.
Oh, here's a couple of pics of that replacement mirror. Nice touch.
Regards,
Jim
