Not sure if anyone else has had similar issues with having to replace front rotors and pads at only 43k miles. The Midas tech said that the early corrosion with Arcadia, Saturn GM rotors was common. Also claimed that the rear shocks were leaking but was not able to locate replacements.

Yes, have read of both those issues. I would also get a second opinion on the need to turn the rotors. What was the reason for the rotor replacement?

Thank you for the reply! The mechanic told me that the rotors were too corroded and damaged to resurface. He said that it was a common problem with this make. The final cost was $490 including brake pads and bleeding and replacement of brake fluid, probably more than I should have paid.

Sorry regarding the shocks the mechanic showed me oil residue on the rear shock. Not sure if this common wit GM shocks?

I dont know if it is common but there have been some reports of the shocks failing early.. They are only about 40 bucks each and are VERY easy to replace yourself
