It's been awhile since I was last on but i thought that I would put this up for anyone with a 07 or 08 Outlook. I know that there is another post in here some where about this but I couldn't find it.
I just had my 08 in not to long ago to have the seat belt guides replaced I looked up one day while putting in on and saw that the seat beat it'self was cutting into the guide. I then checked the beat and it was starting to fray on the edges on both sides. So off to the dealership before the warranty was up.
This part is covered under the warranty so there was no out of pocket expenses with this. They ordered the part and and told me to come back when they called.
About 4 days later I get the call and I go back in. About 30 minutes later they tell me that the new parts for the fix are for the 09 models and there will not fit so they are going to have to order the whole assembly that fits against the pillar and once again to wait for a call.
3 days later I got the call and back I go. It took them about an hour to replace all the parts and put the new belts in on both sides. The only thing that it cost me was time sitting at the dealer. The new guides are cut higher so they do not rub against the guides and my problem was fixed.

I have the same issue on my 07 Acadia; except the seat belt itself isn't fraying so I have left it as is. I'm pretty sure there was a similar post on the Acadia forum

Have the same thing in our 07 Outlook. :(

Wondering if I should go ahead and get them replaced while the car is still under warranty. Heck might as well while the car is still at the dealer being worked on.

My 1st OUTLOOK did this and they were replaced under warrenty with a new design. I'd say have them replace them while they have it.

Sooo these little slits are not suppose to be there? Maybe ill just dremal the opening to something that will resemble less of a cut and more of a curve.

How about this floor mat? My HHR did this at like 20k miles.. ugh.

That is a good idea about using the dremel.

That was happening on my Outlook but since I was still under the B2B warranty I was able to get GM to replace both the front posts. Totally better design on the replacements and should never have that problem again.

Now if they finally have the water leak fixed I think I will be a happy camper with my Outlook.

My 2010 is doing the same thing with the belts cutting into the pillar trim. I'm having them look at it while it's at the dealer now. I assumed that I had the updated design, I guess not. :angryfire:

You would think a 10 would have the updated guides; hopefully they will take care of this minor issue

I would have thought so too. They ordered parts and they'll be in next week. We'll see if they're different.
