I was in Mesquite, TX this past weekend and I saw a 78U Outlook :thumb: in a parking spot. I don't see many of these so I stopped to take a closer look. On further inspection; I noticed something odd.............there were no roof rails I did a "double take" when I first noticed this so I took a closer look. I did not see any mount holes on the roof or anything that would suggest roof rails were ever installed. This is the first Lambda I have seen in this condition and of course I didn't take a picture :banghead:

Just thought I would share ;D

I read on one of the forums a couple of years ago that someone had theirs removed and the holes filled in. Some Outlooks I saw on the lot when I got mine didn't have them from the factory. Most were XE base models.

My wife's coworker has an XE with no roof rails. I think it's an '08.

I noticed it yesterday when I dropped her off at work.

I agree. Not meant to offend anyone without them but the Lambdas without them look Fugly!!! ;D

Better than it never being around in the first place. :thumb: I read in the Acadia forum that there is rumors they are getting rid of the Acadia in the near future. They may be in the same boat as us soon.

Stupid if they do. # 1 in total sales. Talks are more of a redesigned little smaller version.

I have always liked the look and styling of the Outlook and I still think GM screwed up in getting rid of this line. The second stupid thing would be to dump the Acadia line.

As far as traffic; I think it's great that this forum is starting to gain some traction :thumb:

More and more people are starting to get OUTLOOKs cheaper everyday, which I guess if you look at it, you get a really nice CUV for 3K to 5K cheaper than a similar ACADIA. Also I think the rental Co's are done with them and just sending them to auction and dealers can get them at a good price there too. I see quite a few around here.

That's where mine came from. The rental company only had it 6 months and only 12K miles. I would guess the sticker on mine was mid to upper $30's, I paid just under $30K for a nearly new SUV. Used Traverses were $3K-$5K more and the Acadias were beyond that.

I just priced a 2011 Traverse FWD 2LT very close to mine. MSRP $38K.

Bought my '09 Outlook XR AWD w/every available option except DVD rear entertainment and heated washer in Feb 2010 w/19k miles. Has the power folding mirrors, powered rear sunshade - all the things in '10 that GM cost-cutting deleted (Ok, the power folding mirrors came back for '11).

It was an ex-GM executive car. Paid $32k at a Ohio Saturn dealer (they were still selling new Auras at the time, go figure). Don't have the original sticker, but from what I've seen on the Interwebs, it stickered somewhere around $46-47k.

Anyways, hasn't gathered much dust since, as it just turned 38k this month (wife's daily driver).

That said, we are getting our money's worth of use out of it.
