Everything is working good now and I have purchased a GMPP 3yr/36K $0.00 deduct warranty. I think I'll need it!

Wow quite the laundry list, looks like the extended warranty might be a good idea. I don't know whether to wish for no problems for you and waste the money on the warranty, but I don't want to wish you problems so the warranty pays for itself. Good luck anyway. I really hope the 2010's fare better, so far so good. 22k miles and only one small issue with a mystery miss in cylinder 1 that was unable to be repeated at the dealer. Other than the miss, she has been the reliable ride for the wife and family I had hoped she'd be.

Hey 6sixathome,

I did respond to your PM tonight before I surfed out here. All I can say is it should be all behind you now with that laundry list of what the dealer addressed. Fortunately for you all of that was under warranty. Let's hope for clear sailing and you "drive the wheels off her"...trouble free. I'm approaching 36K miles on mine (should hit that this next week). I guess I'm just lucky with this one. Like I said the big issue I had to deal with at the front end (1st 4 months of ownership) was that parasitic electric draw which caused a few no starts. I still keep a set of jumper cables in the that storage well out back LOL! Tire wise I'm getting good wear and honestly expect another 10K to 15K more miles before shopping for a quieter tire. I try to check the tire pressure every 3 or 4 weeks and keep her inflated a couple of lbs. over the 35 minimum. What tire did you end up buying?

Regards,

Jim

HI COCOATAN09XR, I did get your PM and it's good to hear from you and it is also good that your XR is purring right along :thumb: I got these tires http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires...toMake=Saturn&autoYear=2009&autoModel=Outlook XR FWD&autoModClar=

So far I've got over 2K on them and they look just like new. I plan on rotating these every 3K to try and get bookoo miles out of them. I think I paid $841.00 OTD and I got a free Megellan GPS to boot that I'll give my oldest as she goes off to school.

In case others come on here and see the repairs..
Dont think all Lambdas have issues.

Heres a Thread where I did my own inspection at 36,000 on my 2010. (im now at 37,300).
But in 37,300 the following was done by dealer
1- the seatbelt inspection recall. (no issues were found)
2- Software update for the Ultrasonic Sensors.

Aside from these 2 things- nothing.

Some owners just got great vehicles and some (like me 2X) did not, I don't know how many threads with Acadia's, Enclave's, OUTLOOK's and Traverse's I have read with owners who have major issues, too many to count, BUT, those are most of the ones that you see is the problem ones. COCOATAN09XR has an 09 OUTLOOK built 1 month after mine and his has been almost trouble free, see his post above. I don't know why it ends up like that but it does. But as far as Lambda's go for me and future purchases, I'm done. I hope now that I've bought the extended warranty mine stays trouble free.

I will say that the interior of my OUTLOOK (besides some wear on the leather seats) still looks great, I've got the carpet covered completely and the dash is always dusted, overall I'm happy with how good it looks.

I suppose I have been very fortunate. I've had my Outlook for 4 years and have put 42K miles on it. In 2008, my transmission ran rough while the Mrs and child were on a trip home. She pushed the OnStar button and they diagnosed it and made an appointment with the Saturn dealer. I've had two transmission recalls and the wiper blade recall done. I had another recall done a year ago (can't remember off the top of my head). My OEM battery died during summer.
The only options I have on my Outlook are the towing package, XM radio, and OnStar. The rest is stock. I bought some Weather Tech floor mats which have kept the front and 3rd row carpets like new. The second row mat slides too much and my child seems to bring in a 1/2 ton of dirt everytime he gets in the car.

The one where they redo the OLM so you not going so many miles in between an oil change, this is to help keep the timing chains from streching.

@key1cc, if you would like to send me a private message providing me with the VIN of your vehicle, I would be happy to research recall information for you.

I would like that....and I thank you for your good intention.....
. but unfortunately the world we live in prevents me from giving you my vin number since i read on the net theives can use your vin number to steal your car.
Nothing personal but you are simply an ID on the net. Perhaps you can suggest to me how to use my VIN number to check for recalls myself? And are you suggesting that not all 2008 Saturn Outlooks XR built in July 2007 have the timing chain recall?

@key1cc, I honestly and completely understand where you are coming from in regards to giving information on the internet. I have been a victim of internet scams in the past and you can't be too careful these days.

According to the information that I have available to me, on certain 2007 model year GMC Acadia; Saturn OUTLOOK; 2007-2009 model year Cadillac CTS, SRX, STS; 2009 model year Buick Enclave; Chevrolet Traverse; GMC Acadia; and Saturn OUTLOOK vehicles equipped with a HFV6 engine, under certain driving conditions, and with extended oil change intervals, the timing chain could wear prematurely and cause the illumination of the Service Engine Soon light. With this information being said per say, it seems to me that this is VIN specific.

You can contact your local General Motors dealership, provide them with your VIN and seek if they can provide you with recall information pertaining to your VIN.

I hope you have a great rest of your week.

For what it's worth, I've corresponded with GM Customer Service (Michelle) and another GM rep and my local dealer on an issue, so I can vouch that she's legit. She's been a big help on these forums, it's good to see.

On the timing chain recall, there's a nice big thread here with the full text of the recall. I was hoping to see a VIN range, but didn't.
