Came home from work and and placed the suv in park turned the car off and the key won't come out. Instrument panel indicates PARK and doors automaically unlock. Need help thanks in advance

I have heard of that when the battery has died. Don't remember reading about what you are experiencing. Have you tried the search function above to see if there are any posts which may have the same problem?

The battery would of been my guess too. Will it start?, if not try and jump it to get it running for a while and then try to pull the key out.

I've never had a battery issue, 3 ago put the Outlook in park and turned off the ignition and could not remove the key from the slot. 2007 XE 71k miles, I've been told that a switch has gone bad ???

Are you having the dealer pick up your SUV or are you having it repaired by a private repair service?

Yes, thank God it come with a rental becuase I plan on having them repair key problem and Airbags

My key wouldn't come out when the battery died a few months back. After I changed the battery, everything went back to normal and my key came out.

Did your OUTLOOK seem 'normal' after the battery change?, meaning did it drive and perform different like it had to relearn your driving style?

On my 2009 Saturn Outlook, when I turn the key off, if any door is open, then the key will not come out until the door is closed and the key is turned on then off and removed. The battery seems to be fine. Is this normal???

@saturn09, I have read your post about your situation with your 2009 Outlook. I can understand the frustration that you might be experiencing with this. If you were to have this taken to the dealership for diagnosis, it might be something that is covered under warranty for your vehicle.
