Hoping maybe someone has some insight. My outlook has been a night mare the engine was just replaced in april. It jumped time and bent a valve. They replaced the whole thing cause i flipped. Now im having this issue where it feels like a tranny problem to me. I was on my way to work the check engine light came on nothing new to me but it started shuttering on the high way. Get it in my garage have one of my techs hook up his scanner he finds u0073 p0562 p0667 p06ac p0711. So I call the dealer tell them im bringing this pos back for more issues. This was the week before labor day it was a wednesday i get there i tell him whats going on. He starts giving me the song and dance its a holiday week hes short staffed not much he will be able to do. I go sit in the waiting room he than comes back says the trans is shuttering he says possible torque converter or valve body he resets the light and says ill have to bring it back. I bring it back the next week now he tells me they are going out of business but he will try and diagnose the problem but if the trans needs to be removed or overhauled i will have to take it to another dealer. I left it there for 3 days. He called me stating they have found nothing wrong so far just that its shuttering in evry gear and that the trans needs to be torn down to be inspected but since they were closing there doors id have to take it to another dealer. The service manager notated on my receipt what they did for the other dealer so they knew where to start from:This is what they did. They road tested vehicle on light acc can feel checked fluid no metal no codes in system. Vibrates all gears call tac. Check ratios shift point match spec in doc 1747826 check slip speed less then rpm call tac back j calibrations all correct. Perform shift adapts tac suggests r-r trans and disassemble check 3-5 wave plate and valve body. If ok replace tcm case #71-1104585338. Due to shop closing not able to remove and disassemble. Advised owner to take to another dealer. So after all that i take to a dealer by my house gm customer called them and made sure it was ok i dropped it off friday with the paperwork and case number from gm. My shop is right next door so i would check the parking lot from time to time to see if it was in the garage yet monday rolls and its not in the garage yet so i give a call over she says her trans guy is in school. I back off dont wanna be a pain in the A** finally wednesday she calls me saying they cant find anything and for me to come pick it up i was sooo pissed i get there and the service advisor is filling out my multi point inspection sheet just pencil whipping evrything checking off shocks good struts good when i saw her do thati said liar she looked up startled i said did you read that one befor you checked it off or did your techs just not look at my trcuk cause if they did they wpuld have saw my struts were leaking. I take my truck soon as i get on the highway stats shaking again intermittently. I call and rip gm customer care a new one they say take it back when its doing it so i do and the tech is telling me its road vibration or something else. I tried to trade it in and im upside down in this **** thing so the dealer wants nothing to do with me unless i have a nice down payment so im stuck and help would be apreciated

It's probably not transmission, but an ignition coil, whether a connector is loose or not installed properly, causing a misfire - thus the shuttering.

For all the other write-ups, I'd get this one issue fixed and find another service center - they obviously missed the leaking strut, and it doesn't sound like they are bringing their "A" game.

My 09 outlook is doing something eerily similar right now. It has been stuttering, no engine light, so I took it on Monday. They updated the ECM (and changed the air filter w/o asking). It drove good all week until about an hour ago. I just got a call from my wife saying it is worse than ever and the check engine light just came on. She is about 30 miles away from the dealership. I don't know if I should have her drive it back or tow it. This just sucks. I have had nothing but problems with this car. I have only had it for about 9 months now so I guarantee I am upside down.

@dustin, how did things go with the Outlook on Friday? I would like to look into this for you and your wife. Please, let me know how things are going.

I will send you a private message with the details I will need to get some research done about this.

I'm glad they were able to find the culprit of your woes, dustin. It's a bummer your wife had to go through this.

Do you have the Outlook back?

Well...

They replaced the coil but on the test drive the problem remained. They are now replacing the fuel injector. They are hoping we can get the car back today.

On a side note. Thank you Michelle. I got a call from GM following up with me. My dealership is treating me right so far but it is nice to know I had extra help. While I am not impressed so far with the GM product their people have been great.

Realize the Original Poster, Aj2009p, might lack some writing skills here, but perhaps GM Customer Service (Michelle) might be able to "reach in" and try to get some facts from the OP on this. Likewise, it would help if the OP provided a little more info here, like miles on his vehicle etc... I understand losing your cool. These vehicles are a big purchase item...not cheap and having to "chase 'em" without reasonable satisfaction from the GM dealer network is frustrating. My advice: Try to connect with GM Customer Service here...provide as much facts as you can and see if an amiable solution can be had.

From what I've seen on these Lambda forums, Michelle and Her Support staff/stand-ins have played a major role in helping to resolve issues that crop up on these Lambdas. The key here is gathering as much info on your particular Lambda and communicating that info to Her. You have nothing to lose but some time.

I'd reach out to Michelle here...your troubles with your Outlook just might get resolved.

Good luck!

GM published a TSB for ignition coil issues on July 1, 2012:

NHTSA: Action Number: 10045342 Service Bulletin Number: PIP5038

Report Date: Jul 01, 2012
Component: Electrical System
Summary: SES light engine misfire and/or shudder - inspect ignition coils. This may be the result of a heat stressed/damaged ignition coil.

Thank you, COCOATAN09XR! I couldn't agree with you more; the more details I have about the entire situation people might be going through only helps me to see what avenues might be available to assist.

I put my e-mail address in my signature so don't be afraid to get a hold of me that way as well as through here.

Happy Friday and I hope everyone has a great weekend.
