So I am assuming your 08 does not have NAV? I attached a pic of a NAV unit from a Vue; size wise it will fit. I imagine it could work, but I would shoot for a NAV unit from a Lambda before using something else

Will the nav system from a 08 VUE work in a 08 Outlook?

I doubt it. The Vue is an Opel... made in Europe. Probably different communications bus.
I'm pretty sure all of the newer NAV units like this use the same LAN system. Personally, I would opt for something like Rosen's NAV unit. Then you have more options at your figertips plus you won't have to worry about "if it will work or not". I've sold a few to local GM dealer and they love it. It's a little pricey but for what you get it isn't. You don't even have to get any sort of adaptor harness or mount.
