I had the battery changed in my Outlook yesterday. About 20 minutes after leaving, I hit a bump and the Stabiltrak warning light lit up and message center said service traction control system. I have also noticed that when downshifting there is a bit of hesitation. Upshifting is fine.

Is there any way that the battery change could have caused this? Is there any kind of wiring in the battery compartment that could have been disturbed as a result of this?

The reason I ask is that all was fine until the batter change.

Thanks in advance.

Yes- changing the battery- especially if it takes a while to change...
can cause memory loss.

Transmission can lose learned shift parameters. Youll notice shift points change.
Give it some miles to relearn.

As for the Stabilitrak---not sure about that one.

Try disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes to reset the ECM. If that doesn't work a trip to the dealer may be in order. RB is correct that after disconnecting the battery the TCM and ECM will take a few miles to get back to normal.
