I have 2008 Outlook XE and I do all of my own oil changes and want to know who is resposible for the placement of the oil filter in these things??? It is next to impossible to remove the filter without dripping oil all over the front frame rail.
Anyone change their own oil with any tricks to avoid this?

Check over on the Enclave/Traverse/Acadia forums. There have been numerous posts about how to do an oil filter change without dripping oil.

Just try a search on each forum.

Use a premium filter with an anti-drainback valve and be very, very FAST !!!!!
Kind of hard to be very, very, fast when your arm gets stuck between the engine and the radiator!

Perhaps I should take it to the dealer? :banghead:

I usually stuff an old shirt under the filter and then screw it off. The shirt then catches the oil that is dripped before i can get it tipped upright.

You could also use a gallon size ziploc bag to go around the filter.
