I have a 2007 Saturn Outlook with 170k km and as been a great SUV until recently. I've always changed the oil every 5-6000 KM's either at the dealership, local garage and most often at a drive thur facility. I went to Lube City for my oil change like I've nurmeous times back on Dec 28, 2012. They used the same oil filter has previous, Service Champ OF2222, about a week later with less than 500 km I went out to start my Saturn and there was an instant knocking sound coming from the engine. Long story short I took it to the dealer, they took apart the engine and found a piece of media paper that was blocking the cylinders so that oil couuln't pass into the heads, thus a major repair, $4000 later that problem was fixed. I took the Service Champ filter back to Lube City and it was sent to FRAM for inspection, shorthly after that FRAM denied my claim stating that the media paper might be from another filter?
Has anybody out there run into this same situation? And if so what happened?? :help:
