Try loading and unloading your luggage rack and taking snowboards off the rack without running boards. If you stand in the door sills you get them all dirty and there's not enough width. In addition to the look, they actually provide a step for people getting in and out of the car, especially when adults back out of the car from the third row. Laslty, shorter people and kids depend on the side step to get in the car.

As for the nudge bar in the front, it's mostly for looks but it also provides a slight intimidiation factor for cars that try and jump in front of me. And I never get scratches on the bumper from cars/trucks with tow hitches parellel parking in front of my ride. I also hate being able to see all the stuff under the car from the side. I love both the mods, the complete the SUV look and all of the feedback has been positive.

I like the additions, I have the side steps and bull bar on my Vue, and they truly do come in handy. I want to put side steps on Outlook for my wife, she's 5ft 3, it would be a nice boost in and would make it easier for me to wash the roof when washing it , my Vue has an actual bumper I can stand on and get the rear and sides to get the entire roof. The Outlook is nearly impossible without some sort of telescoping device.

There are a couple threads on the other boards about blacking out the Saturn emblem. I taped them off and spray painted it. Get some painters tape, and exacto knife and newspaper to maks off the area's you dont want sprayed and thats it. Great little mod that makes quite a difference. If I had a Chevy or an GMC I 'd do the same thing. To me, car logo's and emblems shouldn't have a color, just chrome. I'm still wondering when Chevy and Ford will let go of the yellow and blue backgrounds.

I used Plasti-Dip on the Bowties of my 2007 Equinox. Was curious as to what other methods were used to do this.

That's very sharp, mswerb! I wonder how many colors of Plasti-Dip there are?

My wife is 4'10", we thought about side steps but she decided it was fine without them. Besides, I've heard that they can make a mess of your paint legs if you're not careful.

As for washing, I stand on the rear tire or simply open a door and stand on the door sill. Just make sure they're closed again when you hose it down. ;D

My front Bull Bar is primarily used for intimidation when left turners think about turning in front of me, lol. But I actually did use it to push a car out of the street that had broken down two weeks ago with no scratches or damage. There's no way I would have done that move without it. I actually felt like a had a real truck for a moment.

And yes, at least pivot off your running boards when existing or else the back of your leg could get soiled if the boards are dirty.

**** yeah nice look. Tint that front window tho. ;-)

I'd take a brush guard as well if I lived in the city. I hated driving my car into Philly for the very reason. Drivers bump you till they can't move. Dents, chipping,..... I hated it.

My cousin took them when we were wine tasting in Napa one day. He has a DSLR so they look professional.
