Does the antenna on the Outlook screw off?? because i have heard from people it hits the top of the garage door when entering or leaving. So maybe a person could just screw it off and then put it back on after wards.

Hi,

When we picked up our 09 Outlook, I asked the dealer to replace the antenna for a smaller one, I think it was off a Vue. It sits about 2 inch short. Works with our garage doors. No banging and they did it for free.

Boy howdy! I'd love to find out how to get a shorter antenna on my new OUTLOOK if it would work as well as the factory lenght antenna. I have the same deal: it snags the garage door a little and makes some noise when backing out. Is yours for sure from a VUE?? How's reception now?

I unscrewed my antenna to carry plywood on the cargo rack. I was so surprised that I could still receive AM, FM, and XM that I left if off for a week in case I needed to make a quick trip for more plywood. I didn't try OnStar though.
