It does look a little tight for bikes but for a cargo box they do wook good and with plenty of room.

I just ordered the crossbars GM part # 12499868 from GM Parts Direct for $164 with shipping. I hope they attach easily.

I think that you will have to take off the chrome end caps on the rails (easy to do just take a screwdriver and push in on the hole towards the center of the roof and they pop right off) and slide the cross bars in from the the back.
