Hello,
New to this topic. I like the outlook and its twins but the Wave Plate issue has kept me away. I see most wave late issue are posted with the FWD types. Is this same issue found in the AWD? I'm not sure of the transmission types used in AWD. Also the Timing chain issue? I'm told the engine has to be removed to do this? What brilliant engineer came up with that one? Which engine ? 4cyl? 6cyl Both?
Thanks

The Saturn Outlook only came with a 6 cylinder.

I had a 2007 and had the timing chain replaced at around 26,000 miles.

It doesn't make a difference which drivetrain you have. You may still be prone to the outdated waveplate design.

The only real difference is that the AWD versions of the Outlook have a 6T75 instead of a 6T70. They are both the same transmission (mechanically), but the 6T75 has some beefier parts.

I would only buy one through a dealer that can provide the Carfax. Verify that the transmission has been rebuilt or replaced at some point. Either will mean that you have the updated waveplate design.
