Column 2 of that little table is pricing in Chinese Yuan: 650,000. The exchange rate between the Chinese Yuan and US$ is about 6.8 to 1. So 650k Chinese Yuan makes it $95.5k.

The car might be packed with options, but $95.5?!

May be that's what people pay to get unique car? I doubt there are many outlooks sold in Chaina.
I have a friend who bought recently unique (for Canada) 9 year old car for like $15k and this is neither exotic car nor classic. Pretty much the same case as the Chinese Outlook. I kind of understand him (especially when the money is not the case here which is apparently "the case" with the Chinese Outlook...)

The Chinese are discovering cars while people in the US are re-discovering bicycles. I have 3 cars in my household, but I bike to work. I have a cousin in China who recently bought a VW Golf. He wrote to me the other day about recently after walking out of a super market with bunch of grocery bags in hand, he was met with a downpour. "I could simply sit in my new car and watch other people running for shelter", he said, "it felt so good thinking in the not-so-distant past I was one of them but never again".

Two and half weeks ago, I got caught in a downpour biking home from work. After resigning to getting drenched, it didn't feel that bad. ;D

Yeah....I just hope those lucky people over there don't get Outlooks with leaky sunroofs !! :angryfire:

A $95.5k vehicle with a leaky sunroof, now that would be bad wouldn't it? On the other hand, he who pays $95.5k for an Outlook will never complain about its fuel economy. Too small a tank may be, to low mpg never.
