Good morning! Question... looking for some help.
We have a 2007 Saturn Outlook with mileage over 150K. Had the PCM Module fixed yesterday at our GM dealer due to an issue with being unable to get the motor to turn off without key in ignition. Done. $700. Then as we leave, check engine light comes on, they take it back in. Timing chain needs to be replaced. Okay.... $2500 repair, we will think about it. Then as we leave, service stabilitrak and service traction control messages come on. Dealership says we had not seen this before because the timing chain/stabilitrak issues are related and we did not see these messages because of the PCM Module issue. Our local mechanic who we trust disagrees (not GM dealer), not sure if he really knows so I am coming on here to ask.... does this make sense? Would all that be happening as a chain reaction of the other problems?
Does a timing chain issue cause the service stabilitrak/service tracton control messages to occur?
They are saying they will cut us a 1/2 off deal.... $1250 to fix the timing chain problem, and that by doing so, all this should be fixed.
Thoughts?
