Thanks for the feedback guys...

I've plugged a few tires over the years, but always in my off-road only Wrangler.

I was kinda trying to use the "safety concern" to push for two more CM supplied tires... but with no luck.

I am confortable with it...

Brought it home yesterday afternoon.

First mod's completed within an hour of pulling in the driveway...

Carmax sticker removed.

Scotchlite American Flag added.

FDNY RFB 9/11/01 decal added.

Child safety seats installed.

Still need to add IAFF decal and HFD Station 15 decal.

Activated three month OnStar trial... already got my forst diagnostic report email.

Activated three month SiriusXM trial... gotta call them and argue later since I just paid for a whole year...

AM familiar with the RPO codes, will worth thru them some time this week.

And I have always been a "3000 mile oil change guy", and believe in good oil an good filters, so the OLM is really nothing to me.

Thanks for all the positive feedback already...

I'm sure you've heard all the arguments, but 3K for an oil change is a waste of money in my view. I've never owned a vehicle that recommended less than 7,500 on an oil change, for 'normal' conditions. Even with my Outlook with the DI engine, I've done an oil analysis on Pennzoil synthetic at about 9K (about 5% on the OLM) and it showed the oil was still fine. Blackstone recommended another 9K interval. I've got another sample to send, this time dealer dino oil, that I ran to 0% on the OLM with similar mileage. Based on those results, I'll settle on a good interval for my Outlook.

Some, particularly with the DI engine, have found that their engines are hard on oil. I think that many of them have settled on a 5K interval.

Of course, many folks like peace of mind that the 3K interval provides. I like saving the money.

SALUOD - Yeah...

If I was to print out all the pages I have read over the years debating OCI's and Dino vs. Synthetic on Jeep and Offroad forums, Ford truck forums, KIA Soul forums, on BITOG, even here... it would make a Grainger catalog look small!

I have always settled on 3000, knowing that if I can't get to it right away I have a cushion too.

(FWIW, the wife's 04 Malibu is at 3400 right now... guess what it is getting this week...)

I am also a high-quality dino oil and high-quality filter guy.

I have never actually sent a sample to Blackstone for a UOA though.

You can google the RPO codes. Usually they're correct. You can alternatively try sliding by your local dealership and ask the service advisor or parts person to run a GMVIS report (provide them with your VIN #).

Looks like a nice ride.

The wife loves the color.

In the background you can see my KIA Soul (which will be returning to a KIA dealer some time this week), my Wrangler (hiding in the garage for the winter... which we have not had yet) and just a hint of the wife's Malibu (which will now become the commuter car for whichever one of us does NOT have the kids that day).

S'posed to be 65-70* here on Tuesday so I am gonna detail the new ride (not the pressure-washer-and-tire-shine job CM did for delivery).

Congrats on the purchase of your Outlook!

Yep have to agree that color is really good looking, although I tend to like my WDT better. ;)

Enjoy!

See if you can guess where I'm coming from.

I had an Oldsmobile 98 Dark Blue

Buick La Sabre Ming Blue

Ford F150 (present vehicle) Ford Tru Blue

So ya, I like that color on your Outlook very much!

Congrats!!!!

Thanks for all the positive comments...

We were dead set on NOT getting another grey or silver vehicle.

Wife's Malibu is grey and she has hated it from day one.

I have had TWO silver / grey Grand Cherokee's.

Heck even my pickup is white and grey.

Did not want white or black.

Red Jewel is nice, and there seem to be a pile of Garnet out there...

Wife originally liked that, but we came back to the fact that we did not want a purple car...

We had a gold '88 Nova, a gold '88 Pulsar and a gold '99 Odyssey. My '93 Escort was white, and when I got my Mazda, the only '05 5 speed left in the state was silver, the last color I wanted.

I was looking for something a little more bold when we went shopping, but alas, our Outlook is Cocoa brown. I do like the color, but your blue or the red would have been nice.

When you buy used, you kinda have to take what you can get.

No floormats.
OK, it has a generic, parts-store / Wally-World set... in TAN.
I guess they threw whatever they had in it to say it has floormats.
Found a "Titanium" and a "Black" set on E-Bay... may pick them up, just not sure if the "Titanium" is the right color.
Looking like a Saturday morning delivery...
