Power Liftgate not working.

Anyone have experience with the rear power liftgate not working? My 2007 Outlook liftgate no longer works via the key fob or the touch switch located on the liftgate. I can open the it manually but the liftgate will not open or close automatically. I have checked the 30 amp fuse under the hood and its OK. Is there something else it could be other than the Power Liftgate Control Module? If it is the PLCM does anyone know what these cost?

Thanks-

Silly question - but you did check that the dash switch is not turned off, right? :D
WOW that was almost embarrassing! It's the wife's vehicle so I didn't realize there is a switch to turn off the liftgate. Anyhow I checked it out and the switch is in the on position. I tried opening the liftgate in both (switch) positions and nothing.
Do you hear the lift gate mechanism engaging and unlocking?
Yes the liftgate latch/lock mechanism unlocks when I pull up on the switch located on the liftgate and i can open it manually. The lock mechanism also works properly when closing the liftgate. It grabs the liftgate and closes it securely when I bring it to an almost closed position.
Sounds like a bad liftgate control module; I had the same issue. I don't know the cost; mine was covered under my extended warranty
my power liftgate on my '08 outlook is only going about 1/2 way up then goes back down. If I manually assist it the rest of the way up it doesn't stay up, if you let go it slams all the way back down. Any ideas?
Bad support struts, likely. Not too expensive and fairly easy to replace I believe.

Like salguod sated bad support struts, I got a pair from Rockauto made in the USA and the problem was fixed.

To doropallo (or anyone else): I see you listed two different part numbers. Are the left and right struts actually different?
There is a recall on this. You should have gotten a letter, actually several, even if you received a letter stating it was already done, it may not have been , they sent some out in error. . GM will replace the struts and reprogram the module so it shouldn't fall. I just had mine done last week.
Recall #15240
I had the recall (reprogramming) done a few months ago. They did not replace the lift supports at that time. Seemed to be working fine after that. Recently, I have had a number of times when, after pushing the button, the hatch starts to go down, goes about 1/4 of the way then stops and goes back up. I'm trying to figure out if I just need to replace the struts/supports or if it needs something else.
Ahh yes, they only replace the struts if they deem them necessary. If they go out afterward I assume it's on your dime.
I believe the service bulletin (or whatever it was called) said that if the struts went bad within 90 days of the reprogramming, they would replace them under the "recall". I called the dealer this morning and the reprogramming was done in September so I am out of luck.

The dealer wants $39 each and said they are different part numbers. I also asked "wickstromchevroletparts" an ebay seller about the part numbers. He said the part numbers I need are 22918204 for the left side and 84050727 for the right side. So, I just bought them on ebay for $44.36 total for the two and we'll see what happens. FWIW: I looked at the struts on the vehicle, the part numbers are printed on the struts: 22918204 on the left and 22918205 on the right.
It makes sense that the struts are different strengths since the power driver is on one side only, the opposite side strut should have more weight capacity.
I replaced the struts on Saturday so we'll see how it works. The weather has warm lately so we'll have to wait until it gets cold to see what happens then....

I have this exact same issue on my 2008 Saturn Outlook XR. Did you ever figure out how to fix it? I also hear the motor for the latch doing its job. Pull the door shut and latch is it like it’s supposed to. But nothing happens when I use the electric button on the fob, or in the vehicle, or on the trunk for that matter. All I get is the noise from the motor that latches the door. I’ve already swapped out the motor assembly with the gears from one in a junkyard, and that didn’t do anything. I also replaced that computer that everything plugs in to back there with one out of another vehicle. Still same results. I really don’t know what else to do.
Has anyone else experienced this issue? And if so, did you find a fix? It seems this thread is dead.
yes it is dead, these vehicles arent made anymore, you can try Enclave and Traverse forums, same vehicle, similar issues.
