Anyone having issues with FM reception? I have the standard audio package and have had nothing but problems with it since I bought my Outlook 2 weeks ago. I also cannot get the auto-volume thing to work. I dropped it off at the dealer tonight so Service can look it over tomorrow. My salesman said I wasn't the only Outlook owner to call in with a complaint.

Got my Outlook back from the dealer. Of course, they claimed "the problem is fixed". I asked how, saleman replie, I have no idea. Bottom line, it is not fixed. When parked, you can find a radio station and it stay solid - but drive off, and it's in/out/in/out. And these are local stations that non of my other vehicles have problems with. So, I will call to pester them on Monday. I'm also not convinced that the auto-volume control is working...

I have had my Outlook now for 7 weeks and it has spent nearly 2 weeks in the dealers. The radio suddenly "crackles" and then goes down to 1/2 volume. It is the upgraded 6 disc version, and after the "crackle" it has terrible sound and no sub-woofer. They have changed out the radio 3 times, amp once, tried unsuccessfully to reprogram many times. Local dealer seems helpful but they are way outside their comfort zone and of course Saturn says "first time". Other blogs on the Arcadia for instance show that this is a recurring issue, no-one seems to have a solution. Any ideas?? 1800 miles and dead stereo is not too cool!!

If they can't fix it, push for an aftermarket system to be installed at either the dealer or manufacturer's expense. This can be done as there are adaptors that allow for OnStar to function with any aftermarket stereo. Not sure if PAC has created an adaptor that would allow for the steering wheel controls to be used, but then again if you get one with a remote...no worries. Probably won't be the route you would take, but it's a suggestion.

I know it sounds simple, but have you climbed up top and made sure the antenna in not just loose? I have had them come unscrewed some on other cars and cause similar problems. A little Locktite on the threads and the problem was solved.

Tried the Antenna thing - no luck - mine was secure to begin with and the reception got really worse once it was removed. Still, the fades in and out as you drive along the road, where my other vehicles have no problem. My salesman has stopped returning my calls so I guess I need to start speaking directly with service or a manager?

Any TSBs out there for this?

Is there anyway to check the reception strength. On my car Mazda3, if a puch certain buttons etc I can see what my reception strength is on any station. Not sure how this will help but at least you can check for yourself..Ask the dealer if this possible. Its not in my manual got it from another owner, where he got it from, no idea..

Sorry it wasn't something simple like the antenna. Hope they find the fix for you soon.
