Hi, I'm new to the site. My wife and I just picked up a used 2008 Outlook XE AWD in gold mist this afternoon. :)

The Saturn emblem on the steering wheel is dented in on one side. I know it's a minor flaw, but it detracts from an otherwise flawless vehicle. Does anyone know if that can be popped out? I found an exploded diagram on parts.com but it looks like it might be part of the airbag assembly. I'm mechanically inclined, so if the part can just be removed and straightened out or replaced even if it involves tearing down the steering column, so be it, I want to make this car perfect. ;D

Thanks.

This looks like a great site for information and tips/tricks... read about the garbage bag trick to removing the oil filter to keep the undercarriage clean.

Welcome on board and we look forward to hearing about your Outlook. Did you get it from a Saturn dealer? I would let the dealer do it simply because of all the "stuff" that is in the steering wheel.

How did it get dented?, or did you buy it used?

Yes we got it from a Saturn dealer, maybe I'll run it by them and see if they have any ideas.

We bought it used. I'll see if I can attach some pics my wife took of it the day we brought it home.

I can't get a pic of it that really shows it. Basically it's just pushed in on one side, the bend follows the bigger arc in the logo (if that makes sense).

Here's a pic that you can kinda see it in:

Ya I really could'nt see it that well, I wonder if it's just snapped in there or held on with glue or something? I would say call the dealer and ask them how to remove it and install the new one ???, if they are decent they should not have any problem helping you out.
