Are the plugs for each of the OEM radio's the same. Having problems with the single disc unit and would like to upgrade to the 6 disc. Not the Navigation unit.

Should be able to do it but the new one will have to be unlocked by a dealer more than likely. I added a 6 disc player to my son's single disc player in his Buick Rendezvous. Dealer charged me $35.00 to unlock it. They needed the serial number of the car the replacement radio came out of if I recall.
