On my roof rack there is a curved plastic piece that curves down from the actual structural rack to the roof. On one side the plastic piece is secure and locked in. I can't even figure out how to remove the piece. On the other side I've lost the piece 3 times and Saturn has replaced it each time. On that side the pice just slides right off. It's not locking in. I think there is a piece missing underneath the plastic that keeps it locked in.

Does anyone know about these or know where I can find a schematic showing all of the parts so I can fix the piece?

There must be something that permenatly attaches that piece so it won't fall off. I don't own an Outlook yet but this also brings up a question I have. Do you have to get a roof rack on an Outlook? On my Yukon I have one that I've never used and in fact it makes it harder to wash and wax the vehicle. Can that be deleted if I order an 09? Hope you get your problem solved soon.

For 09, the XE does not come with the rails and the XR does.

If you order an XE with the Adventure option, it will have them as well.

Not sure if you could order an XR without rails but I doubt it. Personally, I like the look of them. Non-leaking ones would be nice though. ;D

I figured out my own problem and just thought I'd share. There is a little hole on each roof rack on the inside near the back. Stick a phillips head screw driver in that hole, push until it stops. Then you can remove (or attach) the corner of your roof rack.
