I have a 2008 Saturn Outlook and I was replacing my spark plugs and intake manifold gasket. It was easy enough to replace the spark plugs but when it came to installing the intake manifold gasket it was a pain. Because the clearance for the installing the gasket and the manifold didn't give any room because the issues of the retaining bolts were hitting the cowl and the firewall. the bolts are too **** long. Again its impossible for to drop in the intake and the bolts straight up and down the bolts are to long. I've looked at videos on the web their engines were almost the same type of engine but the difference was the clearance of the firewall and cowl. I couldn't do its myself without damaging the the intake manifold the bolts when installing by myself were moving the gasket. I was frustrated asked different individuals on what to do the best answers was that i had to drop the engine to install the bolts. It sounds easy but if a person doesn't have two floor jacks the person is **** out of luck. So I found a way. Its A TWO PERSON JOB. FIRST PERSON HOLDING THE INTAKE MANIFOLD TOP TOWARDS YOURSELF AND ITS ALIGNED WITH THE INTAKE . INCH BY INCH MAKING SURE ITS LOWERED AND THE BOLTS ALIGNED WITH THE HOLES ON THE MANIFOLD GASKET. AND THE OTHER PERSON LIFTING UP THE INTAKE SO THAT THE BOLTS GETS ALIGNED WITH THE GASKET HOLES. THE OTHER PERSON IS MAKING SURE THE BOLTS ARE IN THE CORRECT HOLES OF THE INTAKE MANIFOLD GASKET.
