Hey everyone, hope all is well for your 08.

I am taking my first trip up the hills ( Lake Tahoe) and want to know what to expect with the Outlook AWD, now i know you are not suppose to put chains on becasue of the clearence, but CA law says you have to have them. Also, CHP does check at the checkpoints. Now, they are the snow chain rules...

R1: Chains, traction devices or snow tires are required on the drive axle of all vehicles except four wheel/ all wheel drive vehicles.

R2: Chains or traction devices are required on all vehicles except four wheel/ all wheel drive vehicles with snow-tread tires on all four wheels.
(NOTE: Four wheel/all wheel drive vehicles must carry traction devices in chain control areas.)

R3: Chains or traction devices are required on all vehicles, no exceptions.[/color]

Now, they say before it get's to R3 they close the roads. HAs anyone had their Outlook up this way this year or similiar. Also, can i expect my Outlook to handle pretty well in the snow, what should i expect driving in snow conditions?

Sorry for the repeated questions. I just want to make sure my trip with the kids is a safe one. Thanks for any advice and experiences driving in the snow.

That must of been crazy!!! Glad you guys came out of that o.k... This was with no chains right?

Well, it seems that the Outlook AWD should do just fine. I am not expecting any Blizzard conditions. I actually thought with the seasons and all, i would of got more response from Outlook owners, but it seems that people are ocuppied with mods and gas mileage...
Wife loves the car for what is is, not big, not small and many cool features.

Thanks Fivehalio!
